 LEGISLATIVE - ISSUES EDUCATIONAL CHOICE & FREE MARKET REFORMS We believe that competition will help our educational system as it helps in so many industries today. You wouldn’t want a state run car company or computer producer or potato chip maker. Yet that’s exactly the situation our parents and students face every day – taxpayer dollars being funneled into a system with little accountability, and expectations of failure without the hope of choice. It is unacceptable for our state to only have half of it’s students graduate from High School. It is unacceptable that nearly three out of every four students fails our state’s proficiency standards in science and social science; that nearly two out of every three students fail grade level standards in math and reading. We at Club For Growth support innovative 21st Century free market solutions to the problems our students face within this broken system. Pilot programs in cities like Milwaukee prove that school choice improves education for children in public and private schools.
